Job Purpose
Checks Sea and Air Freight documents and produces an internal manifest of Incoming materials in order number sequence, completes Customs documentation.
Tallies and checks the cargo against the ships manifest noting any discrepancies.
Completes tonnage reports monthly for accounts purposes.
Checks supplier’s advice/invoices against outstanding orders and completes the receiving documentation.
Raises discrepancy/damage reports and goods received Notes.
Maintains records of discrepancy/damage reports and goods received Notes.
Instructs Store men and participates as necessary in checking and clearing materials received.
Answers queries from various user sections on arrival dates and contents of Shipments.
Allocates storage space and plans and arranges shelving to suit material requirement.
Identify materials according to specification and existing stocks checking with users as necessary.
Checks conditions of materials and takes preservation and protective measures as necessary.
Select correct location for materials and ensures that Location number for Computer input processed.
Checks requisitions before issue to ensure accuracy and correct authorization.
